Five Family Style Kung Fu

Five Family Style 五家拳 is a southern Chinese kung fu system.  A system created by five Southern Sil Lum (Shaolin) 南少林 descendants.  They integrated their elite techniques to form a new system with better transition and strength.  Fut master provided the system with open hand techniques such as palming, slicing, and slapping.  Master Hung's close hand punching style was chosen because of  its directness of power usage.  Master Choy inserted his medium range stance to facilitate quicker transitions.  Master Lee's blocking technique accompany with chin-na enhancement became the system's defense.  Finally, Master Mok completed the system with his stealth kicking style.  To ensure longevity of this new system, forms and combat concept were created.  Since all five ancestors came from Sil Lum, therefore, physical body training method (internal and external), mental cultivation, kung fu etiquette, and philosophy are passed down  as taught in Sil Lum.

Composition of the Five Family Style external structure include fundamentals 馬步 (horse stances), five animal techniques 五形 (ng ying), hand forms, weapon forms, prearranged fighting forms (hands and weapons), free style fighting, and body conditioning.  On the internal side, there is breathing exercises, meditation, and power (jing) generation.
